White Brass & Cobalt Blue Art Glass Candelabra by Gunnar Ander for Ystad-Metall — Sweden, 1960s

Designed by Gunnar Ander and produced by Ystad-Metall in the 1960s, this three-arm candelabra is one of those pieces that earns its place on any table. The white brass frame is elegant and assured — a central stem rising from four curved legs, with scrollwork framing the centrepiece: a bold diamond-set square of deep cobalt blue art glass, produced by Lindshammar Glasbruk, the Swedish glassworks with whom Ystad-Metall collaborated closely on all their art glass designs.

The combination of cool white brass and saturated blue glass is quietly spectacular, particularly by candlelight. The three candle arms hold standard dining candles with a diameter of 20–23 mm.

Condition is very good throughout, with wear consistent with age and use. The cobalt glass is perfect — no cracks, scratches or chips. Marked “Made in Sweden” on the stem.
