Sculptural Teak Table Lamp, Scandinavia — 1960s

This is a lamp that rewards a second look. The solid teak base has a shape that shifts entirely depending on where you stand — sharp and angular from the front, sweeping and curved from the side, with a softly scooped back that gives it an almost figurative quality. It is the kind of form that is hard to describe and best experienced in person.

Carved from solid teak, it speaks to a moment in Scandinavian design when the material itself was the statement — warm, dense, and rich with grain. The craftsmanship is confident and the proportions are well considered.

Condition is very good vintage throughout, with only minor wear consistent with age and use. The lamp shade shown in the photographs is not included.
