Pair of White Metal “Swirl” Candle Holders by Gunnar Ander for Ystad-Metall, Sweden, 1960s

These elegant four-arm candle holders are designed by Gunnar Ander for Ystad-Metall, Sweden, and date to the late 1950s–1960s. Crafted in white metal with slender candle stems, small drip trays, and softly undulating, swirling bases, it is a refined example of Scandinavian mid-century design.

Attribution note: this model is sometimes attributed to Harry N. Boström for Bo Svensk, but based on construction, proportions, and close comparisons with documented examples, it is most convincingly linked to Gunnar Ander and Ystad-Metall.

The pair is in good vintage condition showing wear consistent with their age and use. The candelabras take small tapered candles with a maximum width of about 12 mm. Marked “Made in Sweden”.
