Pair of Six-Candle Candelabras — Gunnar Ander for Ystad-Metall, Sweden, 1960s

Few objects command a room quite like these. Designed by Gunnar Ander — one of mid-century Scandinavia’s most celebrated metalwork designers — this matched pair of six-armed candelabras is a study in effortless elegance. Slender black-painted metal wire branches upward and outward in organic curves, each arm cradling a conical candle cup with a warm flash of red copper at its rim. Together, the two pieces hold twelve candles and cast a glow that feels both dramatic and intimate.

Produced in the 1960s by Ystad-Metall, the Swedish manufacturer behind many of Ander’s most iconic designs, these candelabras have aged beautifully and are in excellent condition. Suitable for standard 12 mm diameter candles.

A rare find as a matching pair, and a genuine piece of Scandinavian design history.
