Pair of Red Glass Table Lamps — Model 800 B by Anders Pehrson for Ateljé Lyktan – Sweden, 1960s

A striking and remarkably rare pair of table lamps in vivid cherry red glass, each with the satisfying, sculptural form that made Ateljé Lyktan one of the most distinctive names in Scandinavian lighting. The squat, rounded base sweeps up into a slender neck — a shape that feels at once bold and quietly refined. Both lamps retain their original labels and the concentric ring detail visible on the base underscores the quality of the glasswork.

The lamps were designed by Anders Pehrson, who joined Ateljé Lyktan as director in 1964 and is widely credited with transforming the company’s creative and commercial fortunes. Under his leadership, the Åhus-based studio produced some of the most celebrated Swedish lighting of the postwar era. Model 800 B is a particularly rare find — we have not previously encountered this model, and notably it does not appear in the model overview published in the official history of Ateljé Lyktan, making this pair a genuinely uncommon discovery.

Condition is excellent. Both bases are free of scratches, cracks or scuff marks, with barely any signs of wear or age — the glass retains its vivid gloss. Please note that the shades shown in the photographs are not included. E14 bulb.
