Minimalist Teak & Brass Table Lamp – Sweden, 1960s
An elegant, minimalist table lamp in solid teak, its clean rectangular block form typical of Scandinavian design at the height of the “teak era.” The lamp rises from the block base on a slender brass stem to a period bakelite fitting with an integrated switch, a nice detail that keeps the silhouette uninterrupted.
The socket carries its original SEMKO “S-mark” sticker, the Swedish safety-approval mark that was mandatory on electrical goods sold in Sweden, a small but genuine sign of the lamp’s age and Swedish origin.
The underside of the base still has its original green felt protector pads and a faint factory production stamp.
The teak has beautiful, even grain and a warm, well-cared-for patina. The lamp is in beautiful condition, and comes with a new tapered white fabric shade. E27 bulb.
