Cast Aluminium Two-Light Candle Holder – Sweden, 1970s

This candle holder is first and foremost a sculptural object. Cast from solid aluminium in a single fluid S-curve, it rises from a wide, stable base — one candle holder sitting low at the foot, the other sweeping upward on the arching stem. The form is organic and confident, with a smooth, softly reflective surface that shifts between matt and polished depending on the light. When two candles are lit at different heights, the effect is quietly theatrical.

The quality of the casting is notable — the piece is solid, weighty and well-finished, with no rough edges or imperfections. It has the feel of something made to last, and to be noticed.
