Blue H2O (Pedrera) table lamp by Barba Corsini & Joaquim Ruiz Millet for GUBI, Denmark, 2000s

Architectural H2O table lamp, designed by Barba Corsini together with Joaquim Ruiz Millet, with its distinctive style and inspiration taken from Corsini’s iconic PD2 Floor Lamp. The lamp was produced by GUBI, as Danish design brand. In 1955, Barba Corsini was commissioned to remodel the attic of Gaudí’s La Pedrera, transforming it into 13 modern apartments furnished with his own designs inspired by the building. In 1991, the attic was restored to Gaudí’s original vision, leading to the demolition and disposal of most of Corsini’s interiors. During this process, architect and gallerist Joaquim Ruiz Millet rescued the PD2 Floor Lamp from being discarded. This discovery sparked a collaboration with Corsini to recreate and preserve his designs, with this H2O table lamp as one of the best examples. The H2O table lamp is still being sold by GUBI, however the blue version is no longer available. Minor cosmetic wear to the paintwork present (see photos).
